About Us
The committee currently oversees the following sites:
- The War Memorial (bandstand) located in the downtown area. Located at this memorial are the names of World War I veterans, for which this site was built and dedicated in 1921, those that served in World War II, and memorial plaques for the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
- The G.A.R.. memorial plaque for Civil War participants from Newmarket. This site is located on Main Street next to the old Newmarket handtub building.
- The Revolutionary War rock memorial donated by the D.A.R. located at the corner of Gerry Ave and Main St opposite the Town Hall.
- The plaque located inside the Post Office which lists the Revolutionary War soldiers.
- The Urn of the Unknown Soldier located at Riverside Cemetery
- The cannon located at Riverside Cemetery.
- The cannon and the Robert White Memorial stone located at the corner of Bay Road and North Main Street.
- Granite stone listing names of veterans buried at the old Newmarket Cemetery located in back of the Police Station .
