With the increase spread of COVID-19 in the community, the Town of Newmarket will be requiring all visitors to town facilities to wear masks effective January 5, 2022 regardless of vaccination status. Below is the Emergency Order:

NEWMARKET MASK POLICY IN TOWN BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES

Pursuant to the Newmarket Town Code Section 12-23 – Emergency Powers and Duties, it is hereby ordered effective January 5, 2022, that the following will regulate the wearing of masks in town buildings and facilities:

  • All visitors to Town Buildings must wear masks.  Signage for the public entrance will be posted and masks will be provided. If an individual cannot wear a mask for medical reasons or refuses to do so, we will provide them with alternative service.
  • An employee must don a mask any time they are unable to maintain a 6’ distance between them and their co-workers and/or someone from the public.  
  • While in an office with closed doors or working alone or at distance from other staff, masks can be removed.  Masks must be worn in hallways and common areas.
  • Care should be taken to keep your mask clean and uncontaminated.
