MAIN STREET COMMITTEE MINUTES

December 4, 2008

7:00 p.m.  Town Hall Auditorium

Members Present:  Clay Serenbetz, President;  Ranan Cohen, VP; David Legault, Treasurer; Martha S. McNeil,

                              Secretary,  Jan Galloway, Tidoe Beaulieu and Ethel MacIntosh

Approval of Minutes:  Martha S. McNeil- Motion made to accept September minutes by Ranan Cohen, seconded by Jan Galloway.  All members agreed, so moved.  November minutes; a motion to accept, made by Jan Galloway, seconded by Ethel MacIntosh, all members agreed, so moved

Treasurer’s Report::  David Legault-Cash-on-hand, November, 30, 08:  Checking-$l,2l6.03’ Savings, $l7,807.l3; Total-$l9,023.16.  Some PSNH outstanding invoices.  Discussion:  President Serenbetz ask if a request for money from the town had been initiated yet.  Ranan and Dave will investigate this matter.  Clay will contact Don Parnell, Finance Director on this matter.  HF broke even .  Motion made to accept this report, made by Ethel MacIntosh, seconded by Martha S. McNeil, all members agreed, so moved

Meeting dates:  Third Thursday of each month-January l5th; February l9th, March l9th, April l6th, May 21st, June l8th.  Kathy Castle, Adm Secretary will be contacted for booking of meeting rooms

Old Business:  Tidoe Beaulieu – Plaque has been installed in Hand Tub Building.  Future NMSC Projects:  Historic Plaques in downtown; placement of Kiosk; input into design of furniture for downtown (benches, trash cans, etc)  Budget not completed on this yet, therefore we will wait and see how our budget shapes up

Julie Glover may stay on as Community Developer, to facilitate the mills

Tidoe Beaulieu:  Discussion on moving a building on corner of Central and Spring Streets.  One suggestion offered is to move it to the municipal lot on Spring street, cost could be $9,000.00.  Several ideas are being suggested along with cost factor, code requirements and who will pay for this and who will be responsible for maintaining the building.  Tidoe will keep us informed on this issue

David Legault is on the Tree planting committee for the downtown

Julie Glover to be invited to our January meeting for a discussion on some of these projects

Ranan:  Passage of Mill density and LACA information

Engine House Stewartship Report due – Ranan and Tidoe will write it up and send it in
