Report from members:
Rose-anne Kwaks reported that the demolition ordinance has been reviewed by the town attorney and the question remained whether this was a town wide ordinance or only pertained to the historic district, I was agreed that this should be town wide. Rich Alperin request the Demolition Review Committee is name the Demolition Review Board.
Phil LePage reported that the Town clock committee, chaired by Bob Gasda, received a quote on the repairs of $35K. It might be possible to tap into TIF funds.
Discussion followed on the Historic district Ordinance
Windows - Review of proposal from Michael Dowling and Judy Ryan - language from Keene draft were incorporated in Newmarket proposal. Under shutters we should add Bob Turcotte comments regarding “retaining profile of sill when installing siding”.
Masonry - General feeling is that masonry should be repaired and kept it natural or painted color. This section should be in the exterior walls section and should be kept simple. As an HDC we should provide resources to applicants and need an overall educational component.
Paint - Phil LePage will research color pallets and ask Exeter for their pallet. Rose-anne Kwaks provide samples of Historic color charts from California paints and other vendors.
Entrys - Newmarket criteria needs minor edits .
We will review Storefronts, Ironwork, Signs and New Construction at the next meeting.
