Excused: E. Pelczar, M. Pelczar
Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Vice-President, R. Alperin
Motion by M. Provost and second by L.F. Getchell to accept April 29, 2008 Minutes as written. All in favor.
Ed will check with the Town Finance Dept. to see if the check was issued for LandCare to restack the stone wall. Contract was signed and sent to LandCare on May 6, 2008. Monies were included in the current year budget for this project. LandCare has not called with a schedule.
The Trustees of Trust Funds have received the $15,000 from the Town to establish the CIP for the Town Cemeteries. The Cemetery Trustees requested these funds in order to begin the repair of the many damaged stones in the Old Town Cemetery. Ed will contact the Town Administrator to have the Cemetery Trustees placed on the Town Council agenda. The Trustees wish to discuss with the Council the process of expending these funds so that the work of repairing and cleaning monuments in the cemetery can begin.
The Trustees would also like Ed to contact the Town Administrator to see what amount was finally approved in the 08-09 Budget for the Town Cemeteries CIP.
Mike Provost cannot get a confirmation from the Army Recruiters until after June 18th, for the work detail at the Old Town Cemetery. He has also contacted Club Chameleon and they will help the same day as the Army Recruiters come. Mike will contact some stores for food and drink donations for that day.
No Memorial Day Parade but services will still be held at Riverside Cemetery on May 30th at 7:15 p.m.
Some dead trees, along Elm Street, were removed from Riverside Cemetery. If trees are replanted, what will they be? Does the salt affect them?
The Cemetery Trustees received an invitation for a gravestone restoration workshop on Sat. July 12th 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Portsmouth.
Motion to adjourn at 7:39 p.m. All in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Richard Alperin
