Newmarket Advisory Heritage Commission

Minutes March 3, 2008 Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 7:05

Present: Roseanne Kwaks, Dana Glennon, Forbes Getchell, Philip Le Page, Judith Ryan

Excused: Ranan Cohen, Jack O’Sullivan

 Ms. Ryan reported that the Dunkin Donuts proposal had been reviewed by a technical  review  committee and was scheduled  for a presentation to the Planning Board on March 18.

Ms. Ryan also announce that 3 No. Main Street was for sale as well as Flora Ventures.

Discussion on the downtown reconstruction and time lines was reviewed.

Dana Glennon  announce that any funds for the commission would require council approval and would most likely come from the council contingency funds

Discussion on Historic District Project

Proposed time line for adoption of Historic District Commission and District

 April 16, 2008 – Town Council Meeting

Presentation of map for approval

Presentation of letter to residents of Historic District

Presentation of time line 

May 1, 2008 -    Information mailed to residents of Historic District

May 15 or 22, 2008 - Public information meeting with consultant from NH Historic Resources. 

Request public participation/review of duties and responsibility of commission and draft regulations.

August 2008 – Work on commission documents

September 15, 2008 - Presentation of documents to Newmarket Town Council

October 1, 2008 – Newmarket Town Council Public Hearing

October 15, 2008  - Newmarket Town Council  Approval
