Minutes of Cemetery Trustee Meeting

June 23, 2010

Present: Karl Gilbert, Ed Pelczar, Michael Pelczar

Excused: Michael Provost

Meeting called to order at 7:03 P.M.

Minutes of the April 28, 2010 meeting were approved as written.

Election of officers was held. Ed Pelczar, Chair; Michael Provost, Vice-chair; Michael Pelczar, Secretary; and Karl Gilbert, Bookkeeper

Kai from Gravestone Services of New England will be returning to Newmarket sometime in August to continue repairing monuments. Ed stated that there were 3 or 4 broken monuments in Riverside Cemetery. We would like to get these repaired first then go back to the Old Town Cemetery for more repair work there.

Ed & Mike Pelczar have been to Riverside Cemetery and reset five monuments that had fallen over. They were not damaged and were stood up and compounded to the bases and in two instances the bases were leveled first.

The Veterans Committee refinished the Memorial Urn and returned it to the cemetery. They also made a good base for it to rest on. It looks very nice and we thank the Veterans Committee for their continued work.

Mike Provost told Ed that he would be doing some work, in the garden around the flag pole, in the Old Town Cemetery.

During the last bad storm the top of the cedar tree in the Old Town Cemetery came down. The tree will be taken down. Once this is done the stump along with the stump from the oak tree will be ground.

Ed will research our funds in Capital Reserve and our budgeted amount in the 2010-2011 Budget, so that we know how we stand on funding.

No meeting has been scheduled for July. Our next meeting will be held on August 25, 2010.
