(Your complaints on our old website)
1. Why are the fonts so small on the web pages? J.F.
On the new website, you have three font sizes that YOU choose. Near the top of the page in the upper right corner, you will see three letter A's, each one bigger than the other. To make the site have bigger letters, just click a bigger letter. The site will remember your choice the next time you visit!
2. It is so hard to find the information I need, why don't you have a search feature? A.P.
Our new website features a search feature that lets you search every document on our website! You will find search in the upper left corner, or choose SEARCH from the menu on the left.
3. If I want information on the Planning Board, I have to visit three different pages to get members, agendas, and minutes. Why can't you just have a Planning Board page with all the relevant information to that Board? F.M.
Our new website does just that! Select a Board or Commission, and you will see under that Board or Commission's name, Agendas, Minutes, and Members.
4. Why do you put all your documents in PDF format? Every time I'm at a different computer I can't read any of what's on your website without downloading and installing some piece of software. J.J.
We got rid of that everywhere we could! Now less than 5% of the documents on our new website require you to have PDF reader installed.
5. Some of the posted items (agendas) are ridiculously short. And other times you post documents that are so large, it takes an hour to open them! F.T.
Sometimes we are required by law to post documents that might be ridiculously short, or incredibly large. We have tried to minimize this on the new site, but sometimes it is just unavoidable.
6. There's got to be a better way for me to see what's new on your website than digging through all the pages! S.A.
Our new website gives you a "Latest Additions" box, where you can see what the most recent items we have added to the website are. We've also added a "Most Popular" box that always shows what items are the most read on our site. We will also support RSS feeds, just subscribe to the RSS feed and you will always be up to date! We've also added a "Citizen's Page" where we will try to always have the most requested information for our citizenry readily available!
7. I hate the look of your website. R.M.
It is hard to please everyone! Our new website features a random image on the front page, so each time you visit, you will probably be seeing a new image. (We need more pictures from YOU, our citizenry!)
These are just some of the changes in our new website. Keep in mind, the new site is still under construction, so some links may not work and some text may be irrelevant, acting as just a placeholder for now.
